Cookie Policy

A cookie is a piece of information in the form of a very small text file that is placed on an internet user's hard drive. It is generated by a web page server, which is basically the computer that operates a web site. The information the cookie contains is set by the server and it can be used by that server whenever the user visits the site. A cookie can be thought of as an internet user's identification card, which tell a web site when the user has returned.

What is the purpose of cookies?

Cookies make the interaction between users and web sites faster and easier. Without cookies, it would be very difficult for a web site to allow a visitor to fill up a shopping cart or to remember the user's preferences or registration details for a future visit.

Web sites use cookies mainly because they save time and make the browsing experience more efficient and enjoyable. Web sites often use cookies for the purposes of collecting demographic information about their users.

The law on cookies

A new law on cookies demands that you, as a website user, are given the opportunity to understand how cookies are used on our websites and consent to cookies being stored on your computer (laptop/mobile/tablet).

Generally, the role of cookies is beneficial, making your interaction with frequently-visited sites smoother with no extra effort on your part. Without cookies, online shopping would be much harder. Without cookies, some websites will become less interactive with the cookie option turned off.

By using our websites (through any device) you agree that this Cookies Policy applies to that use in addition to any other terms and conditions which may apply.

What cookies do we use?

The cookies we use includes:

We use Google Maps on our Contact Us page to provide detailed information on how to locate us. Google Maps stores up to four cookies: khcookie, NID, SNID and PREF. We use Google's interactive maps because we believe they provide a helpful way for our visitors to identify how best to travel to us. We use the Google Maps tools on the basis that Google adheres to its privacy policy which can be found at http://www.google.co.uk/intl/en-GB/policies/ and its terms of service for Google Maps at http://www.google.com/intl/en_uk/help/terms_maps.html.

The Adobe Flash Player is an application and web tool that allows rapid development of dynamic content. Flash (and similar applications) use technology to remember settings, preferences and usage similar to browser cookies but these are managed through a different interface than the one provided by your web browser.

We employ Adobe Flash cookies in compliance with Interactive Advertising Bureau standards. We employ Adobe Flash cookies in certain situations where we use Flash to provide some content such as video clips or animation. You may access your Flash management tools from Adobe´s web site directly. We do not use Flash cookies to serve interest-based advertising.

For statistical purposes to track how many individual unique users we have and how often they visit our websites. We collect data listing which of our pages are most frequently visited and by which types of users and from which countries.

We may use AddThis cookies on the site. In summary these allow users to share content via Social Networking websites and email. When we provide links to third party services you find useful, they may place a cookie on your device to make their service easier to use.

We embed a Twitter feed in some of our pages and this uses the following cookies:
Name: k, Typical content: randomly generated number, Expires: 1 week
Name: _twitter_sess, Typical content: randomly generated number, Expires: when user exits browser.
Twitter can also generate original_referer and guest_id.
For further details on the cookies set by Twitter, please refer to the Twitter website.

Google Analytics uses cookies to define user sessions. Google Analytics sets or updates cookies only to collect data required for the reports. Additionally, Google Analytics uses only first-party cookies. This means that all cookies set by Google Analytics for a domain send data only to the servers for that domain. This effectively makes Google Analytics cookies the personal property of the website domain, and the data cannot be altered or retrieved by any service on another domain.
Google Analytics creates cookies including __utmb, __utmc (to establish a session), __utma (gives each visitor an ID) & __utmz (stores the referal source of each visitor))
